Street Photography
One Christmas I was given a photo book about Vivian Maier. Maier is an incredible story, a Nanny that created amazing street photography, only to be discovered after her death. It has inspired me to explore this genre of photography. It would seem that there are many interpretations of what is street photography. My guidelines are: Street photography is photography that features the human condition within public places. Street photographs are mirror images of society, displaying unmanipulated scenes, with usually unaware subjects. Street photography is unplanned. You really never know what you’re going to get on any given day. If you can smell or hear the street by looking at the photo, it's a street photograph. "When you photograph people in colour you photograph their clothes. But when you photograph people in B&W, you photograph their souls"
